Hi AG users, mods and admins. The title of the thread says it all: Why necro'ing is against the rules?

I mean, the forum rules only state that is not allowed, but don't state why. Why?

because generally necro threads are dead topics that have been discussed, or newbs who either want to, or don't understand that they spam and bring it back with an "i agree" or "lol" or something of the sort

No one likes zombies. Zombies eat your brain and all that, and while it might be enjoyable to kill the zombies, unliving zombies are a bother.
So don't necro them corpses.

If you want to "revive" the thread, that's different, right? It's like writing a well thought out post that brings up something new and important in the discussion that you feel needs to be said, right? But not threads from years ago.

Revive is a-okay. Necroing, not so much. So yeah. But it has to be a real good post, and, well, if the thread is too old, it will probably get locked anyway as an old thread instead.

And Revive: I believe everyone is missing a point: It is considered [blahblah three paragraphs]
Necro: Lol, I agree.

It also largely depends on the thread. A discussion would be easy to revive. Something asking opinion... Not so much.
