its totally legal... as long as they are giving away a CD key that they bought, and have the rights to. if they were to decide to give away a CD key that they stole, then yes, it would be illegal.

Uh...yes, it is legal? He's asking if anyone doesn't want/use theirs anymore and if he can have it. Is it illegal to ask someone for something? No.

What would be illegal is if he were asking for places that sell/give away hacked CD keys. Which he's not doing.

It isn't legal because he must have pirated it so he didn't pay, he is asking for a CD-key cuz he can't find them.

Yeaaaaahhhhh you've got no proof. What if he just lost his own key and wants to ask for one from someone no longer playing the game, as opposed to getting them illegally from shady websites?

Don't go around accusing people of things without proof.
