I enjoy many games, but some lack customization. I think customization is a crucial part of a game. If there were only default choices in every single game, no one would play them.(at least i wouldnt) I believe that some games should have more customization options, such as call of duty(halo, bfbc, gears of war, etc.) should have options to fully customize your avatar. Please comment below, and tell me your thoughts on customization, thank you.

Well Halo: Reach certainly has great customization. Gears of War 3 does a decent job with that too, having (I think) 32 multiplayer character skins, and many skin for the guns. CoD: BO has great customization, face paint, weapon skins, you get the point. Fable 3 does a good job too. I think Borderlands 2 (when it comes out in 2012) should have customization of character, even though it probably will not.

I agree that customization is a really cool feature in video games, but I don't think it is a very important part of a game. I wouldn't stop playing Halo if everyone was a clone of Master Chief in multiplayer. The most important thing about a game is the game-play. A good plot and characters are awesome, but I want to have a good time while playing the game. Isn't that why we play video games? Anyways, my point is that customization is cool, but not necessary.

I really don't care much if I'm customized or not, but when I do have the option, I usualy customize it myself so I'm unique, like having my own skin in minecraft or going into the game files and repainting my char, I feel that it is better than having to choose from preloaded options.

with customisation you need to it to be balanced and thats why some games just leave it out

I like it to a point. Sometimes some of it is pointless. i dont really care for face paint in CoDBO but i think being able to pick some hats and chest something would be cool

yeah, thats what Im talking about, some games would be a whole lot better if they offered much more customization, and yes, i realize that every game offers an extent of customization, but they could still be better.

I dont care for face Paint or gun Camo in games like CoD (unless I can get the golden AK from CoD 4). But in RPG games it is very nice to at least pick your hair, facial hair and maybe a cool tattoo.

RPG's are one of the many genres of games that customization is crucial. You need to be able to customize your character, your skills, armor, weapons, class type, looks, and things like that.

Do you mean customizing aesthetically or stat changing wise?

Customizing stats usually leads to imbalancing that most companies aren't dedicated enough to fix after release. While some customizing is good, you can't let people go overboard by giving the best stuff to the higher level people.

Customizing aesthetics is a nice gimmick that always gives you a sense of progression as you unlock better looks for your player.

I think most games need complete customization for the controls, I hate most control options some of them give me.

There are customizations that are pointless and useless, like some face paint or even rings or things that are not visible :c

Yeah, SOME, rings can even be a good part of customization, they can help out your stats, maybe raise your defense or magic. That still counts as customization, even if it's not visible.
