I do some gameplay commentating on youtube and I want some advice like what do you like to see in videos and what makes a good commentary etc. Heres a link to a commentary I did a while ago
Please either comment here or on youtube so I can try and Improve my commentaries.
From the first few seconds I can already spot some... I wouldn't say problems, but they're kind of lack shortcomings: 1) Your confidence. You don't seem certain about much - 13:10 KD ratio I think? 2) That, along with your expression (drawing out the words) seems to be an annoyance as well - it could just be your accent, but you may want to be a little more clear with how you say things (I understand you fine, but the drawing out also shows uncertainty). 3) "Like". Used that word unnecessarily a small few times, try eliminating cultural habits that don't really make sense or aren't needed. 4) Your mic... Sometimes there's painful static although that's really something I think you already know (and furthermore can easily upgrade). 5) You're indepth, which kind of makes sense given your less enthusiastic tone this video however I would suggest you make that sound better as is, and you may want to try shortening what you say as analysis needs to be short but informative in a commentary. ^^
Hope these "tips" help, they're just things I spotted and they're not exactly HUGE towards how good you are, but they're quite visible and can break immersion etc for people who want to look at commentary.
Ok I will try to improve my commentaries mainly working on getting a new mic (4) and planning out my commentaries and working on speaking clearer (1 and 2).
Glad to help man, I suggest (if you're not already) seeing how other commentators make their way through - generally enthusiastic, engaging with the audience, rarely uses cultural habits (usually for jokes) and have a strong personality (which is why people generally love or hate them).
