Let me explain further. It isn't ALWAYS a no-no, but 9 out of 10 times it is. There really isn't a point to bring up a dead topic. If you do, I could see it being done on a forum game. Or a discussion topic, but please do not spam to bump it up.
Usually a bump is a forced way to drive a conversation back to the top. If the conversation is not receiving any replies it should probably be pushed to the bottom anyway.
But there are times when it's more acceptable. For example, if it's been 24 hours and you asked for help on something important such as logging in or Flash help.
i dont know if anyone noticed, but asherlee just posted only 3 or 4 words, isnt that spamming or something?i dont think it is against the rules, but who knows?
There is something somewhere that says posts should be long. This is a thread that probably shouldn't have been created, but rather asked directly to a moderator, since it is not necessarily something that can be debated upon or have more input on. Also, she later 'edited' her short post (which was technically all that was needed for the answer) in the only way we can edit things now, by posting later to elaborate on her short answer.
In any case, I think bumping is alright for forum games, I have often pokes around in the other pages to find fun games that take some thought. I think, though, that a connotation of the word 'bump' is to post some sort of spammy answer just to bump the post back to the top, which I do not think is inappropriate. More often than not, bumping is looked down upon.
