I HATE BLIZZARD. Stick with me.
I'll try...
I hate blizzard because I used to love blizzard but now I can't help but feel anything but betrayed by them.
Should I still stick with you? Please elaborate ^^
I've reached the point where if anyone mentions Diablo 3 I just want to punch something.
You can stop with the expressions now.
Let me explain how this happened.
Thank you ^^
I grew up in the 90's. I played Diablo, Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraftr, etc as they came out. They were some of my best gaming memories from that time period.
Go on...
Then Warcraft 3 came out and I liked it, but it wasn't anything that blew me away.
You played two of its predecessors as you say... kind of difficult to be blown away by what is quite frankly old news.
Now, it's been almost ten years and Blizzard hasn't done anything but **** on it's old fanbase in that entire decade.
Hello Starcraft II and World of Warcraft.
I'd post everything that I hate about WoW, but that would be an entire rant of it's own accord.
Which people like I and ChillzMaster would do as to not look like unreasonably angry fools. By merit of reason, you should give the points and why.
Really, what I object to though, is that we've had something like three WoW Expansions since Diablo 3 was announced and yet the game doesn't even have a release date yet.
That does not correlate to "****ting on the fanbase". Starcraft I has had over a decade of competition and would easily have continued at the state it was if not for Starcraft II - a new horizon.
For Diablo? Well, was not the goal of Diablo to be the wear and tear for the sense of achievement? I see they've deducted that with the real-currency auction house but I can still see their reason to that end.
WTF?!
It will be released when it's ready - Blizzards philosophy and you should be happy that it is that way.
Relative to you being angry, in that end. At least you should not feel a negative feeling - they provide goods, you buy, it is essentially that and it does not go beyond that.
How long do they plan on dangling this carrot?
They plan on their banana until its ripe.
Sorry, different metaphor - but it suited.
Because I'm not going to chase it much longer.
You're the admittedly vague voice of millions - to put it bluntly, why do you think they, or I care?
but there closing^^, "early 2012" is what blizzard now say about a possible release, but i wont bet on that.
I would see that as a good thing honestly.
So lets hope for the 1st quarter, expect it for the 2nd quarter... and feared from 3rd/4th quarter^^
About that, yes
And if the game is good, and i have no doubt on that, i have no problem with the long waiting time, better they make a good game then one of these ****ed too early announced bugfull ****, that we see from other companies.
I rather not twist your words, and as such this is my opinion - Call of Duty, just sayin'
Where Battlefield 3 has taken two "consolified" games to refine it as the true sequel to BF2, or where World of Warcraft is hopefully hitting the nail on the head with the talent system in their forth expansion Mists of Pandaria, the game industry is shrouded by poorly done games through difficulty, immersion, business directives and etc. The ones that shine out are:
Starcraft II - to me this has an astonishing story, and is probably the most balanced game of its time (though its worth mentioning that Starcraft I's time is not over yet and as such ahead, likely).
Battlefield 3 - not really a revolutionary shooter, nor out yet, but if this reaches my expectations (which are flexible over any game as to not be strict and thus influenced on final opinion) then it will be one of the greatest shooters for years on a Multiplayer level.
Mass Effect II - exceptional story, brilliant cinematic style of play that brings varied personality.
World of Warcraft - Balance is far from its main scope from what I can see, however I bare witness to what is one of the greatest and largest pieces of lore created in history of humankind. Is there question as to how awesome the story of Warcraft is?
I do doubt that. Blizzard hasn't made a quality game in almost a decade.
I'll just ignore that, for your sake.
I am very worried that the horror qualities of Diablo will be scrapped for the cartoony campy style of WoW.
*facedesk*
Horror qualities implies a bad thing for one - you're being misleading.
Cartoony campy style in Diablo would actually be a good thing as casual players would play the game, it's a hack-and-slash, that's why. Cartoony wouldn't be graphically intensive whilst it could easily maintain a cohesive and flashy aesthetic - so good job on making the most ultra realistic and highest selling hack-and-slash.
Campy? Explain.
You REALLY need to explain what the hell you're saying. Haven't made a good game in over a decade? What was the problem with ones made over the last decade?
I am not saying all the games they made were good, but you sound very unreasonable, very vague and very dramatic.
I personally liked Starcraft 2. The only thing to dislike about it is they are releasing it in three parts.
Worth it I think. If they keep the Wings of Liberty Multiplayer it will be even more worth it for the nostalgic level, whilst the Singleplayer in itself was worth the money in my opinion.
The Custom Games are certainly worth that much as well. So I get 3 things worth £30 each for that price alone. Not giving Blizz ideas but yeah, it's fantastic.
If they do change the Multiplayer from WoL to only the HOTS version I won't mind as that presents a judgement on balance / interest and it could easily be changed in Custom Games editor, so it's not too difficult.
The 20+ missions, progression of story and introduction of new things in the Multiplayer which greatly affect the metagame will be astonishing.
Sc2...^^, ok thats rts, but nevertheless its a truly high quality game.
Why is there a "but" in that sentence, just curious as to your views on RTS'
Diablo 3 is absolutely not like WoW, ive played the Demo on the GamesCom, that and the latest Vids ive seen shows nothing WoW-ish.
He's jumping the gun it seems... To further his needs for ripping into what is a brilliant developer? I'm considering going back to WoW, despite the fall over on Wrath, the steady climb in Cata with a mess up of the Talent System, they're trying to pick up that system and hopefully the difficulty of the game in this expansion - here's to that working out.
Problem being I hate the grindy feel of the game, so here's to hoping I can do WoW Pokémon, Questing, and even theorycraft for other people or as a metagame analyser to make the subscription worth my pay.
I would need to buy Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria first but hey man - not a problem if I think it's worth it.
KingMeander, please elaborate to a greater extent to what you're saying and see if it's a plausible thing on a moral basis - they're business men, you're looking for entertainment. It could be a backstab and you could hate them for it but for not releasing Diablo III in what is admittedly ages? Hell, don't worry about it!
