I already got it, just wanted to explain the delay. Also, I know how to do factoring now, and what you just said still made absolutely no sense. xD I'm about 90% sure there's no "z" or "d" in the quadratic function.

Well I learned basic factoring in 7th-8th, went over it more in 9th and really delved into it for 11th; right now we're having a LOT of fun learning all the ways to calculate zeros of polynomial equations for Pre-cal.

None of those are actually that tough...quadratic formula isn't difficult, just time-consuming(kinda like proofs in geometry). Synthetic division is just a shorthand form of long division, in the form of a factoring equation, it's meant to save time. Factoring is also really easy. Last but not least, shotguns are unreliable, get yourself a nice AR-15 and you'll really blow 'em away. xD You can take solace in the fact that you'll probably never use that math again once you graduate from college, unless you're going into a career in anything mathematical or scientific. Speaking of which, what do you want to be when you grow up?
