Well, Richthofen's in pretty good shape. Assuming he doesn't carry any of the heavy equipment, I figure he should be able to make it to the village in around an hour and a half, and run back in the same amount of time.

The first two will present problems, but he won't be armed so that should make it a little easier. But the last one(people worrying about his absence) is an easy enough fix, they can just shut his tent("shut" for lack of a better word) and say he's in there praying and is not to be disturbed. Which he's actually done before.
