FINALLY!
now you can make your own class, but explain it
to the sheet!

Drill Instructors. The guys in park ranger hats who yell at recruits in boot camp. You know what they say: those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.
oh yeh, you just have to have a strong voice, bulging veins, good at talking and spitting and making people generally angry
KP? They barely even deserve to be called sergeants.
During WW2 in sicily two mess sergeants went to re-stock on rations, when they came back they took a wrong turn and ended up in a German roadblock, cleared the whole way with only a .50 cal MG on top
"I should hope your dreams are not this demented, Sergeant!" Richthofen replies, ducking. "And you, Private?"
"Good, i think you can make it further than him!" he points a thumb at the private, "See that pass?!" he points to a narrow, steep and vulnerable way to a small ridge on the side of the mountain. "I hear there is a fully loaded Nebelwerfer up there, just abandoned, whole crew wiped out by gunfire and bombs. if we can fire it on the enemy it'll be a great dent in their troops!"
'Except DIs' ? I don't think you've had a former drill sergeant in your face screaming at you, have you?
Actually, my 7th grade PE teacher was an ex-DI. Strangely enough, he was a really nice guy. Never once got yelled at. Anyway, just because they're intimidating and can get right up in your face doesn't mean they know how to be soldiers. No offense to any DIs of course, I'm just saying like the only marksmanship award worth squat is the CIB and stuff like that, y'know?

That statement doesn't apply to ALL mess sergeants. It's just that 95% of them make the other 5% look bad. xD

How far away is the pass? Like if someone was running, how long would it take for them to reach it?

Yes, because the people with an F in hie scool maths usually become math teachers/professors....
[quote]a lot of marines pop their heads for a little while, you take down a half dozen more, then a hail of grenades comes you way
Take cover in the spider holes, then toss rocks at them.
30 seconds full sprints worth, but it does involve a gauntlet of bullets, and a few enemy tanks pushing forward
Richthofen orders the MGs to aim at the tanks; the assault troopers to throw grenades; the infantrymen to fire at the enemy in order to cover the MGs; and the snipers to take out anybody who looks like they're about to shoot him. He also pats the private on the back. "Stay calm and remember your training. It's not so bad, they'll be shooting at me, not you!" Then he gets up, stays low(smaller target), and starts running like hell.

*sigh* I'm not saying they're bad at being soldiers. I'm just saying they're not as good at being soldiers as people who have actually been soldiers, in combat. It's like the difference between the EIB and the CIB. If you have the EIB, that means you know how to be a good infantryman. If you have the CIB, that means you have been a good infantryman...in combat...with other people shooting at you. Which do you think is more difficult?

you start running like hell, then once you reach the pass you're nearly outa breath, you get to the top and find the Nebelwerfer, with a headless body sprawled over it, and a man who is weakly squirming next to it

So it's my fault for frying a circuitboard when he fails to tell me there's a **** live current going through the wire I'm holding... mlia.

Well if you remember your training in the EIB then the CIB shouldnt be too difficult, as ong as you don't get pwn'd through misfortune/bad luck.
one rolls into then new Sato's hole (lol, second death by nade)
D: ! ....Wait, how does an ovular grenade roll through jungle terrain and into a spider hole? If he was taking cover like he shoul, the cover to the hole would be closed and it couldn't roll in.

well it was **** close, it's like a golfball tipping into the hole
So...no possibility of him living at all? Nature of his injury? Gunshot? Burns? Slow painful death?

No training can prepare you for combat. You can learn how to shoot, but you can't learn how to NOT run away. That just takes guts, and guts is something that DIs don't need. Unless somehow courage is required to stand there screaming at some boot who's about ready to wet himself? So you're saying that the EIB is more impressive than the CIB or not? The EIB and CIB are medals, not qualifications...

was wounded by both burns and shrapnel (bomb)

as i read from one book, training prepares you to shoot a gun and throw a grenade, but it doesn't prepare you to look into a dying man's eyes who pleads for help as you slide your knife into him
