Hello. While I was exploring AG-based Xats, I've met several unactive/banned/"old-school" AG Users. Most of them said that, one of the main reasons to their inactivity here is that the site was better before.

Is that true?

How better? They say that the threads had more quality back in time.

Well, I can't tell if it was. I joined June 26th, so that's not too much knowledge on our awesome site...

Yeah, the archives from that old Armatar Contest actually had a post referencing FT reaching 9000 posts. It's seems unreal.

Pfft. I remember when I thought that was such a high number. Funny how these things can change so quickly.

Oh the armatar contests. They were quite productive.

My post progression is kinda like this.

March 2008 - January 2009: Join AG, reach close to 1000 posts due to forum game spam. Loses most of posts; ragequits by June.

January 2009 - April 2009: Rejoin AG near end of the "Golden Age"; Earn 2000 posts

May 2009 - July 2009: Hiatus.

mid-July 2009 - September 2009: Returns from hiatus, reaches 3000 posts in August and leaves at start of September with approx. 3500 posts;

September 2009 - February 2010: Long hiatus

February 2010 - April 2010: Slow going; reaches 4000 posts in early April.

April 2010 - July 2010: Most activity; gains approx. 1000 posts a month for three months. 7000 posts.

July 2010 - September 2010: A bit slow; reaches 8000.

September 2010 - October 2010: Faster; 9000 posts

October 2010 - January 2011: Slow going; 10000 posts

January 2011 - July 2011: Very slow going; 11000 posts

July 2011 - current: Even slower going; gains approx. 200 posts but then loses 1000 due to thread deletion.

Now: Why am I making this post again?

I guess you could also say it was my fault that it got locked.

Cormyn resigned?! Snap, thing's are gonna be strict for a while.

Really? With him gone now I think it'll ease up on that, it used to be very strict with him around. Oh well, I just remember some older users talking about how better it was with Carlie active as community manager. I wasn't here for that, but I believe them. From reading some older threads she seemed really nice and making those armatars contests was cool.

As for post progression, not sure, probably used to be around 50-150 a day, but now it's 5-15.

Double trouble I guess. Also, because you two live in the same time zone.

She got married to John and not much else really.

He's 2-3 hours behind me. Silly Australian.

Carlie was a superb community manager. Too bad she's gone.

I know about this bit, but she still was active for a while after that right?

Almost the same though. Aussies, you just got to love them.

I'm not really sure. My memory tells me she left soon after, but it's faulty anyway.

What games were the highlights back in time?

I remember Colony being the ****.

And I wonder what the prank will be this year. Everyone gets a temp-ban!

I miss the Count to 100 thread. One of the few forum games I really enjoyed playing. Also the How Much Fame and How Much Respect or the above user forum games. Not really important, those two were just fun little time wasters, but still, I don't like how they were ruined by people spamming and arguing about what ratings they got.

Count to 100. I still am a little ticked at Voidy for locking that one. Still, when you have certain people acting like idiots in there *cough*Sonic*cough*, things like that happen. I also remember the old "corrupt a wish" game. That was fun too.
