All I can say is that they're pretty stupid. Right as we're starting to pull out, they provoke us again? Maybe they want us to stay.

The Taliban is claiming responsibility for the attack.

The Taliban will pretty much claim responsibility for any bombing that involves Americans.

This. It's good publicity when you kill people. After all, the only bad publicity is no publicity.

I see no point in the Taliban wanting America to stay.

I see no reason for a a topic for this since it will happen again. Maybe in a short time.
But I think they did it just to show they aren't gone, and as said it is publicity.

For them it a win,win situation. By leaving they can easily take over, by staying the money cost will be alot.

Taliban became more of an idealogy then a group of people.

With lives at stake? I doubt so to be honest. Why would I want such a powerful enemy on my soil?

They already have an ideology.

good question. maybe the taliban know that as long as the U.S. is invading, they will have a steady supply of followers and financial support. for we all know how people come together when there is a common enemy. no common enemy, no support and followers.

They took the fight to the US before. There's no end for their support even if the US pulls out.

if the U.S. does pull out, they won't lose all of their followers, but their steady stream will turn into a trickle. there won't be an end, but there be more limits to their already limited power, which could cause them to erode from the inside. with the erosion, there will become multiple sub-factions that sprouted from the taliban that will have little chance at unity again.

besides, the only thing the taliban is actually opposing is westernization, which is most prominent in the U.S. the taliban won't win anyway because westernization is an idea, not a faction. they believe that if they defeat the U.S. then they defeat westernization. that is a sad misunderstanding.
