92% of teens have turned to pop and hip-hop.If you are part of the 8% that still listens to real music, copy and paste this message to 5 videos. DONT LET ROCK N ROLL DIE thumbs up if you agree metal and rock forever
How many times have you popped onto Youtube and seen something like that? Now, I'm not one to champion our modern Auto-Tuned Pop music, but I do feel a tinge of sadness and a little scorn when I see people post messages like that.
Why? Because most of the ''rock'' bands they claim to list are themselves hugely commercialized, even to the extent of having pop influences. In themselves, they are already like the Pop artists that are so despised, mainstream music, music that is sought after because it's popular.
I used to be into that stuff but not anymore. I don't understand Linkin Park or Evanescence. Slipknot is well Slipknot, it all sounds the same. Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin sound the same, but I'm still kinda into Three Days Grace. What is a puddle of mudd?
I love trolling the trolls on the comment section and then they are all like derpity derp derp and lose.
Replace already bad music with something that's worse.
Children are pathetic. One day they will see that they had erred in listening to those bands, and will promptly commit suicide as repentance for their crime.
I think what happens with music is: a new genre comes out, be it rock, rap, or even techno (though I can't say for sure that started out); it catches on with a small portion of the population, and slowly it's popularity is noticed by record labels; these labels use the styles of the new genre, but slowly incorporate other characteristics that are favored by the masses, turning that music into the "sugar-coated and watered down" content that they can make money off of. I hate when people say that rap took over rock, because that isn't at all the case. Initially, rap music catered to it's own crowd, and so did rock. Now, however, much of the music that is put on the radio attempts to appeal to both groups, which is why a lot of people listen to both genres, where 20 years ago it would be noticeably more difficult. to find someone who could appreciate both. Addressing what you said about many of the bands mentioned being just as mainstream, I think those bands of the "8%" have just failed to acclimatize as well.
One day they will see that they had erred in listening to those bands
No they wont. Do you think that people that listened to bad music in the 70s and 80s are like, "crap I wish I had listened to different music"? No, they still like that music, it's all opinion.
The only thing I could think of that would be worse than the bands that are listed in the OP are 80's pop bands (shudders). Why can't music return to the days of the great artists? I want to see more people like Queen and Rush come about. Heck, some 60's stuff I'd be fine with seeing again. And in reference to that first sentence I said, never look up Culture Club.
