I thought this would be a good thread since I haven't found one like this.
This is dedicated to the great solo (instrumental) guitarists out there like: Al Di Meola Buckethead (don't hate on him, he's awesome) Joe Satriani Steve Vai John Petrucci Eric Johnson Nuno Bettencourt among many, many others...
My personal favorite as of right now is Mattias IA Eklundh He has a quirky and original style (and he's technically superior to many others). It's actually FUN listening to him play.
State your favorite and give a reason or 2 why he/she is your favorite.
@delossantosj JP has quite a bit of solo work actually...while he does play for DT he does work solo.
As for me i would say one of two 1.John Petrucci-He's soo freaking good, i don't know what else to say...(Glascow Kiss is amazing!) 2.Joe Satriani-He was one of the first true solo instrumentalists, and thank god cuz all those guys careers wouldn't exist w/o him.
I dont listen to so many solo guitarists but Mattias IA Eklundh is very cool,he has a very cool style and sound.My friend knows him so thats pretty cool too.
Why would we? Morello is a genious! Trust me when i say, there are about 500 people on AG in front of you whom i wish to flame to death for their terrible music knowledge...(there's only about 550 on the forums...lol...meaning i don't want to)
