I couldn't find a thread like this anywhere, but maybe I just fail at searching. Who knows.

Anyway, I figured we might share some recommendations and also games people need to stay away from by posting some games we've recently played and how we liked them (or didn't).

I'll start, natch.

I just finished Costume Quest, this great little RPG available on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and Steam. I bought a copy over Steam for Halloween and I don't regret it one bit. It's the cutest thing ever, with lovely visuals and absolutely fantastic dialogue. The gameplay itself is nothing new, but the game more than makes up for it in humour and general adorableness. It's the story of a kid whose brother/sister (depends on which character you choose - I chose the sister, Wren) gets kidnapped on Halloween by these goblin-like creatures who work for an evil witch. They're stealing candy, and your brother was dressed as a large candy. It is now up to you to save him, through the awesome power of your awesome costume(s) and trick or treating around the neighbourhood.

The game mostly revolves around the relationship between brother and sister, which is as cute as you might think. Of course Wren isn't saving her brother because she loves him, psshhh. She's only doing it because her parents would ground her if she left him alone! It's sweet and quirky. Wren and the villains have the best lines, which, swear to god, made me laugh out loud a few times.

Anyway, anyone else got any other games to recommend/disparage? I'm aiming this thread to focus mostly on little games such as this one, or ones you think people might not have heard of.
