For those music nerds out there like myself, you probably know that the 2012 grammy nominations are coming up on the 30th. Any predictions on what you think will be nominated for some of the catagories?

With the current scandal surrounding him?
Personally, I listen to many low key and unrecognised bands, or genres that aren't as celebrated (Death/Thrash/Doom Metal for instance), hence I'm out of my depth here.

some of which could still be nominated in the metal catagories.
I think Adele will be nominated for best new artist, unless she's been recording things in previous years and I've just never heard any of her earlier work. Regardless, she's been extremely popular this year, and undoubtedly she'll be nominated for something.
"Rolling In The Deep" played so much this year that I had to strategically avoid every pop station just so I wouldn't have to listen to it. It has a pretty good chance of winning record of the year, which is something I'm not hoping for, but it would make sense if it did.

she will probably be nominated for record, song, album, best new artist, best female vocal, and many more. great album
Oops yeah.... >.< Still, there are bigger whal-....fish for her to grab.
I seriously just laughed out loud.
But yeah, I reckon she'll probably go for Record, Song and Album. Even if I'm not that much of a fan (I have a problem with 21's songs sounding pretty much all the same), I recognize that she's one of the best new artists in the business right now. Plus, her image is a large part of what makes her so popular and I can't help but think that she's sending a very positive message. Something that's become increasingly rare in the last few years of pop music.

Yep, it diverges from the rather bland and cookie cutter teenage heart throb these days. Just doesn't cut it anymore; Westlife might have pulled it off, but it gets boring now. Adele gives modern music a new lease of life I suppose.
Having Adele in show business spells a better future for pop music, I believe. Considering the influences of soul on her music, I can't help but hope for a comeback of soul infused pop.
Also, she's a contralto. Too many female singers force a soprano voice. Adele just takes it naturally, and I appreciate her for that.

I hope she doesn't become a sellout though. Haha.

Well....I really listen to a lot of outlying stuff such as this. No chance of nomination.
haha when i was scrolling through the grammy archives, i could have sworn that i saw morbid on there at one point. not sure though, my memory is a bit fuzzy

Not to mention that she isn't exactly the most attractive person in the world, either. Having someone at the top of the pop charts who doesn't have a perfect appearance is a step in the right direction; the pop charts should be about music, not about appearances, and the fact that people are buying her music because she can sing and not for other reasons is definitely a good sign for the future of music.
