So I got fed up watching American sitcoms and comedies and decided to return to the programs I loved when I was a child. Brit humour. Stuff like Allo, Allo and Blackadder. Does anyone have any of such shows to recommend?

The IT Crowd is pretty funny. But, if you like only older shows I suggest Fawlty Towers. Its a classic.

Thanks Goumas I'll check them out. Also, this might seem like an extremely eye-rolling question, but is Doctor Who excellent?

Doctor Who is quite good. It is truly worth watching if you like sci-fi shows.
Also, an other great sci-fi show is Fringe, its awesome.

Extras is my personal favorite. One of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Quite disappointing that the only made a handful of episodes. The Office is also pretty funny (the British one, not the American one).

Old seasons of Flying Circus and Life of Brian, Top Gear has some comedy in it, Blackadder, and...

My personal list contains these:

- "Allo, Allo"
- "Fawlty Towers"
- "Are you being served?"
- "Little Britain"
- "Keeping Up Appearances"
- "Monty Python's Flying Circus"
- "Blackadder"
- "Absolutely Fabulous"
- "Mr. Bean" (hoh-hoh-hoh-hoh)

And there are several others, just can't think of them right now... =/

British comedy is simply AWESOME! I'm very fond of there humor, dry and out-of-the-blue, sometimes very predictable, but always enough to make me ROFL or LOL, heck, even LMAO! =D
Always wanted to use those three in one sentence... heheheheh! =P

Agreed. The wit is so much more palatable and present compared to American humor. Of course the Yankees are good in their own ways, but nothing beats the Brits for me!

'Death at a Funeral' (The British original, not the American remake) is really quite funny. Only another friend laughed with me. The others didn't get it.

Yes, that is a very funny film. I never bothered to see the American one because I felt they couldn't capture the humor in death that the British could (although they did use the same midget, oddly).
