I figured there are probably a lot of gamers here, and that a lot of you have a PS3. So I was wondering if anyone else ever had this issue, and if maybe you could shed some light.
About 8 or 9 months ago I bought a controller. Standard Dualshock 3 Sony controller. And about 2 weeks ago it started refusing to charge. It did this until the controller went completely dead. The controller worked perfect everywhere else. It didn't get dropped, or roughly used.
We have tried changing the usb port, and using a different wire. The wire works for my other controller, though sometimes it weirds out and won't charge for a little while.
Try charging it on your PC's USB port. Sometimes PS3 refuses to charge controllers that have been fully discharged, so maybe this'll work for you too, despite it not being the same problem (as I understand it, your controller wasn't fully discharged when it started refusing to charge).
