To me it's the Quake series. The majority of old games are also fun because they're alot harder to be good at as all of them are alot harder than todays games. I would respect someone who's a master at Turok than a 10th prestige in MW3.
i <3 ya man.
i to have more respect for quake/unreal players then the CoD players of today. you nailed the right point why. because it's way easyer to master and to become pro in then the old school fast shoothers. where cover was for amateurs.
btw i have compleeted the original turok game =D it's the greatest achievement ive ever made (gaming wise) all of todays achievements mean nothing realy when the games are so easy =P beating a game after 5 months playing feels much beter.
Two games immediately come to mind, "Minecraft" and "Just Cause 2".
Minecraft is a game where your internet browser and the game definitely go hand-in-hand, learning how to craft and build and whatnot is a daunting process at first, but after a while, your first night goes from hiding in a small hallway dug out in a hill to a nice log cabin with stone flooring and *gasp* LIGHT! The recent realization of just how many recipes I have memorized for Minecraft has actually baffled me in its scale, considering my first house in Minecraft was a very, VERY, VEEERRRYYY bad mud hut. I don't want to talk about it.
Just Cause 2 is another example, the odd interface and gunplay and parachute and ****-fast grappling hook are intimidating at first, but as you gather new tricks and self-teach yourself, it becomes one of the most fun things to scale a mountain using just your hook and your parachute, or assaulting a base and being able to not lose a single drop of health. When you can look at what you just did in Just Cause 2 and ask yourself why it hasn't been included in a recent Michael Bay movie, the entire scale of the game's options when you master it truly begins to hit you.
Wow thank you for all the answers and i agree mastering old games is hard to do......but alot of newers games are really easy........i cant really think of a new game that i haven't beat 3 times
I have mastered many games but some of the Real Time strategy games are fun. They are hard but simple at the same time. Games like Battalion wars are some of my favorites.
I'd say that starwars battle front 2 was hard on PC then for ps2 also you can fight other ppl and ot just a dumb AI ........and age of empires was a pretty awesome series
There aren't many games that I've mastered but the ones that I have are, Nox, Fable 2, Kingdom Rush for a recent one, and flash based game. There's also Tales of Symphonia, Tales of The Abyss and Tales of Vesperia, other than that, there really isn't many. Maybe Diablo 2 as well. Final Fantasy 9 was another one I played inside and out. That's really all that I can think of for the moment.
