I'm quite intrigued, not excited, for these new consoles I keep hearing speculation of across teh interwebs. I can only hope that the "720" will maintain the excellent interface and online superiority, while also hoping the "PS4" will do its best to give the new Xbox a run for its money.
The ability to transfer my hard-earned 40K gamerscore wouldn't hurt either...
or you can just go with PC, which is lightyears ahead should you customize it

Look, consoles aren't as good as PC's. It's a fact. I'm not a big PC gamer, but a lot of my gaming is done on this rig. There's a degree of security when it comes to acquiring a console, you don't have to worry about installation or internet speeds or if your graphics card can handle the game, you just put it in and play. Sure, it gives up mod support and, yes, the option for SUPREMELY better graphics, but many of us console gamers are happy that way.

sony and microsoft both are not giving any information away because they know the other will see that info and go's to release their new console sooner then the other.
both want to release their console 1st so that the people that jump into the fype 1st will buy their machine and not waiting for the price to lower and just buy the best. it's all about the money
I'll probably get the new Xbox a year or so after it comes out (or the new Playstation if I prefer it) because when it comes out it'll be ridiculously high priced. Besides, I think it's the games, not the console that matters.

they have not said that.
IGN said that XBOX720 will not be shown on CES (the technical show compared to E3 being a gameplay show) they have said that IF the xbox720 comes out this year. that we most likely will see some of it on the E3. they have NEVER confirmed that they will be seen on the E3.
In all honesty, I'm backed up with games from this year. Combined with Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Max Payne 3, and Mass Effect 3 coming out so soon, I don't see why we're so quick to jump to a new console so quickly. I mean, JACK NOTHING was available for any console in this seventh generation when they first came out. The few exceptions were the Wii's Twilight Princess, and the Xbox 360's Oblivion and Dead Rising.
The funny thing about the Playstation 3, it kicks *** right now and is a force to be reckoned with when compared to the 360, but everyone likes to forget that it had the absolute WORST lineup of games until 2008, when Bioshock was ported over from the 360. After that, it was all uphill. That's TWO YEARS of a low-count of higher-quality games. I'm not opposed to a new generation, I'm just saying we shouldn't rush it.
And one last point, the best games come out at the end of these console generations. Last Gen ended with freaking Shadow of the Colossus and Resident Evil 4; while this one will probably end this year-ish with games like Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and Bioshock Infinite for us to look back on as the final stars in this quickly-collapsing galaxy.
Skyrim is **** fine on console ! I'm playing it on an xbox360, and it's cool, the gameplay has no problem.
Now, for the matter at hand, I don't think there will be a PS4 any time soon, the PS3 is to young for the to want to release a new one so soon, it has still to find games that will make it enter into history.

i hope the make the hdd slots the same or atleast so it fits. then there is no problem changing them and the same cable to transfer data can still be used.

6 year or 7 year doesn't mater right? ps2 come out 7 year after psx also. and befor that time there was a new console about every 3 or 4 year. (and befor that a gap of 20 year =P )
Last quarter 2013, SONY will release the new playstation 1/2 years later which ultimately again will have better hardware however everyone will already have rushed into buying the Xbox "720" and i'll have th xbox fanboys trying to convince me im wrong about what machine is better joy of joys ¬_¬ Would rather it never came out and we all moved back to loving the playstations like the good old days of PS2.
i had psx and ps2 then bought a xbox. but next generation i'll get the ps again. the best exclusive games that i wanted to play came out for ps3. while the 360 exclusive games were not much of a joy.
