So....my tonsillitis died down after a two week battle and my throat got all good until yesterday.

Then I suddenly started spitting and coughing up blood and I think a chunk of bloodied flesh came out as well. Now I don't feel a dull pain inside as I did when I had tonsillitis, but rather a constant grating sore inside.

Is it normal and I'm just coughing up all the bad stuff? Or should I see a doctor.

If only Strop was around....

Go see a doctor.
Generally, when there is blood involved in the coughing, you go see a doctor.
But let me refer you to the resident healer.

Haemoptysis is never good, at least you should try to get somebody to actually take a look to see if they can locate the source. It could be residual from inflamed tissues or an ulcer, but you need to exclude something more sinister.

Also during that time, as a precaution, you should exercise some contact precautions like not coughing or sneezing (or breathing, perhaps) on people in direct proximity until you do get it checked out.
