This is a suggestion for the AG moderators and administrators. I think that for the messenger, the thing on your profile that is kind of like a wall on Facebook, I think you should have some sort of alert when yours gets posted on. Maybe like a little symbol next to your picture. I dunno.

You mean like the "Comment Notify" you can enable that sends you an email every time you receive a profile comment?
Or do you mean something that will notify you while you're online? If that's what you mean, that seems a bit unnecessary. It isn't too difficult to click on your profile every once in a while to see if someone sent you a message.
If you're talking about what I think you are, then it's going to be implemented in AG3. Do you mean when you make a status update or post something on your profile and when someone posts on it you get an update? And other things regarding that, such as when you post on someone's profile and they respond you get a notification? Well, that's how it was in closed beta so I'd expect them to keep that. In closed beta the profiles looked like Facebook/Twitter where you would post a status update or anything and people could comment on them, and you would get a notification. You also got notifications for other things, like if someone sent you a friend request or is following you.
I am reading this, I don't know what I am going to do about it besides: 1) recommend that you read the stickied/push pinned threads at the top of the page for an explanation of "Suggestion goes where" 2) recommend that you enable comment notification in your control panel and have your email running in a tab alongside AG 3) recommend you go look at what is planned for AGv3. Either way, being a mod, the only thing I can do about this is locking this thread as answered or duplicate to the comment-sticky in the AGv3 section.
