Frankly, in my opinion the Satanic part is very secondary. Ok, sure they were psychos who -allegedly- liked Satanism, so what? Anyhow, what really matters is that the perpetrators -probably- held a person hostage and said victim was bound and stabbed for two days.
I think they should have said wether the victim survived or not, although 300 stab wounds doesn't sound very promising. Stuff like this makes you realize that some people are really sick.

based on my analysis, human nature comes heavily into play, but this seems more like one of those things people do when they want to show how against society they are. chances are, they aren't real satanists. they are probably just two women who just separated themselves from their parents' jurisdiction, and wanted to celebrate by doing everything their parents told them to never do. this one more or less fall into the category of: "never have strange sex with a random guy in a motel room" the fact that they had just read a satanic cult book is secondary to that.
I did notice one thing out of place, the eyes of one of the girls. the photo of her gives her a look of true hatred in her eyes. something I haven't seen in a long time.
I don't know about you, but I see a lesson from this: "If two girls want your body, chances are there is a terrible repercussion for agreeing to do so."

Ironicly*, I'm siding with the satanist on this one. Those people are just sick and twisted, not representative of the group as a whole.
There are idiots in every group... and murderers, and torturers as well. Only thing we can do is put them in prison so they can't be their heinous selves to the better part of society.
*Because I'm Christian - fear not, I have Satanist friends (don't ask) and I've learned not to judge...
