I've discussed with a few of my ("religious" friends about old groups like The Beatles and such, and when I brought up John Lennon, all 4 of them stared at me like I just insulted all of Christianity. I asked them what was the problem, and one of them told me "John Lennon is Satanist."
I was rather confused by this, a man who sang and even fought (in a way) for peace worships the devil?
I imagine haha Lennon is considered a Satanist because he singed "Imagine there's no countries [...] And no religion too".
Sigh. I remember when my English teacher played that in class and went on for like 10 minutes before saying, "Now, just 'imagine' that there's no religion, he's not saying that there should be no religion. Please write about what you 'think' the world might be like without all these things." Half the class still didn't understand that she just wanted them to write about what the world would be like if it was essentially different and went on a tirade about how without religion the world would be doomed, or not exist. It took everything I had not to call them a bunch of morons...
Anyways, this topic seems pretty dead to me now. There's no proof, most everyone thinks he's not, and it's all probably some conspiracy nuts who started the whole thing.
