I mean seriously. A few days ago my friends were telling me why I still played Modern Warfare. Sure, MW2 and MW3 are fun and all, but I think any game is really fun. Well, not every game.

When games like Halo 3 and MW first game out, people were going crazy over it. A year later when the next one comes out, they're like "this game sucks it has bad graphics and no one plays its lame noob" and all. I usually stick to one or two games for a year, but I still my other games. People just want new new new....

People just want new new new....

it usualy works like that whit console games.
pc gamers are usualy playing a game for a longer time.

but it's a fact that when a game gets a new release evry year. that it's going to suck because there is nothing new about compared whit the game last year.

if we for example would get a new elder scrolls evry year. then the serie will die prety fast. but now they release the game only once in the 6 year or so. it becomes a big hit evry time and evry game is beter then the 1 befor. whit new inovations and beter graphics.

cod for example was cool when it was released once in the 3 year or so. but then it got populair. and the makers saw dollar signs in the eye's. lets make a new cod evry year and we will get loads of money.
what they didn't see is that the game serie will go down.

Well I don't mind playing halo still. I enjoy it still but I only play online with my friends. When my friends jumped ship I had to too. Not because I didn't like halo but because I had no one to play with anymore.

i disagree devil. it depends on the game itself. if its like a fifa game that pretty much gets one every year i can understand why people will look for newer versions.

look at final fantasy. every game is a whole different game. it depends on what the game is trying to get. im sure that most people who play for story or the feeling the game gives you arent like that and appreiciate the game differently.

of course those who play a game for graphics will look for newer games. and those people probably dont even know old games or even newer games that have a deeper meaning.that or maybe they dont have a good enough imagination to see beyond that bad graphic.

i find it sad that people miss some really great things because of judging like that but i guess i cant do anything about it. different people play for different reasons i guess

i play the cod series in tournaments, and from the point of view of a &quotrofessional" gamer, using the word &quotrofessional" loosely, i play the new games to follow the tournaments, though my favorite of the series for competitive play was black ops.

ook at final fantasy.

final fantasy was awsome untill FFx-2.
befor that time there was a new FF about evry 3 or 4 year.
now they do one about evry year it gets prety boring and lame.
especialy because they use the same chars and setting for 2 or 3 games.

i find it sad that people miss some really great things because of judging like that but i guess i cant do anything about it.

it's a shame indeed.
there are so many awsome games out their but the majorety sticks whit their CoD and whatever other lame game that gets a new version (whitout updates) evry year.

play the cod series in tournaments, and from the point of view of a &quotrofessional" gamer,

i just wanna say that CoD is a easy game. getting prof. in CoD is easy.
getting prof. in actual fast shooters like the unreal tournament or quake serie is way harder. in CoD you get helped by the game whit perks and **** like that. and guns whit a freaking radar on it that shows you where the enemy is --.--'
in older faster shooters evry1 is the same. no perks, no cheat-gun and especialy NO COVER.
if you can own in unreal or quake then you are able to own in about evry FPS on the market. whitout training or game knowlets.

The older games were alot better in enjoyment, i think that the joy of video games started to go down once competetive multiplayer came out. Then the fun of video games was lost. Generally, games that came out 2000 and earlier is where the actual fun of video games came from. Now, you're video game fun comes from some poor newbie's misery in the fact that you've spawn camped him for 3 games straight.

Right now if you go to the video game store, buy an N64 and buy Quake, or Rampage, or any other game that you could think of, the storyline will entertain you, be challenging, and actually fun in comparison to todays games. (Sorry about the rant) People don't see the fun anymore I think because the games themselves are too competetive, and not as casual anymore. Sad, sad world.

somewhat true. competetive gaming is nice when you and your team/buddys get along all just fine.

but thats not always the case. ive lost good real life friends because of competetive gaming. they wanted to kill me so badly while i was simply beter then them. that it became a fight and from bad to worse thats the end of a friendship because of a freaking game =/

I know right! Seriously, it is just a stupid game. People get so mad over things. To make it even worse, remarks like "umadbro" and such make that peron a neusance too.

Oh, how I love it when the PC Gamers drop their hammers of superiority upon us console gamers. It really is a sight to see!

Now, on topic; as a Game Enthusiast, I've been seeing a change in the market. Last year, when I told people about some of the great games that weren't sports games or the newest Call of Duty, they'd look at me with a raised eyebrow and dismiss Dead Rising 2 as a loser game.

A year later, Skyrim, the farthest thing from CoD, hits and makes the biggest splash in the Gaming Community in my school, ever.

What the industry needs are more games like Skyrim, games that come out of nowhere from 5 years after their predecessor, games who can compete with titans like Zelda, games that innovate, lose the generic feel to them, and can still rock the industry like a charged FUS-RO-DAH.

People see the joy in games, I do for one, and with beautiful games like Crysis, Civilization, Minecraft, Halo, Fable, Uncharted, Skyrim, and hell, even World of Warcraft, more and more people will reopen their eyes to the sheer fun of Games.

ugh i know. its even worse here. i remember when i was in elementary people only knew mario (because we had a horibble fan made version of it on the school coms), tekken and bodukai.

in here, no one even knew what zelda, sonic, donkey kong or any of the actual famous characters in video games. video gaming isnt such a big deal over here.... only my closest friend knew SOME of the things ive inroduced to him because old games were for one player only.

i think people who make games should wait awile (not to long other wise people will gat bored of it) before making the sequel of it. Most people never play the old version of the game anymore so the ratings go down, they feel as if it really really sucks.

Since MW3 came out, my friends are going to soon say "lol black ops sucks noobs." I've actually heard one person say that already, it's pretty sad. I've had Super Smash Bros. Melee for 6 years and I still think it's fun.
