Close to nothing in reality. It helps you advance in ranks, which shows site activity, but when you can get 2 AP per game that isn't going to help much. The only thing that really helps is the Forum Post count. It shows how active you are in the forums and stuff, since you actually have to think of something intelligent to say, because any loser can post "Great Game!" on a game comment and earn two cheap AP.
