Angry Birds was mainly for iPhone and iPod Touch usage way before Crush The Castle came out on the Android. Now Angry Birds is on Chrome.
Yea, but Crush the Castle has been on teh interwebs for YEARS, while Angry Birds has just celebrated its 2nd birthday (or somewhere around that mark)
And yes, the Games Industry does have a habit of piggybacking and whatnot, (see Dead Space and RE 4, World of Warcraft and Everquest, Every new millennium FPS and Halo Combat Evolved) but it's mostly been in taking a few key skeletal remains and building your game with new flesh and bones to craft a new, even better experience.
Angry birds did the equivalent of changing HOW the projectiles are fired and put a new coat of paint on CtC, which is just enough to avoid me calling it a "Copy-Paste Game", but still. Angry Birds is a testament to lazyness in games, that any shmuck with no talent can just copy off a famous game and make billions. That's not right, real developers work their tails off for the titles they make, and games like Angry Birds take that hard work and **** on it with mediocre quality and big bucks.
i have to agree entirely with katastrophik1, it is way over-rated not even worth wasting my time over and yet all these people say its the best game ever...
Ugh...the game is just for wasting time when you are bored, tbh every game today is a "rip-off" 'cause it uses the same concept as the game which started the genre, so haters gonna hate (:
I have played both crush the castle and angry birds. Yeah, angy birds is a huge rip-off. Everything in life is a rip-off. Everybody copies ideas from each other. BTW, if you hate angry birds or crush the castle, just don't play it.
I have both on my ipod touch ._. and there different because the firing systems different. Yeah the concept is the same, kill the evil king/queen/pig etc..., but the firing and physics in the games are very different. There different games! And if anyone says EITHER of them are the best game in the world they need to be smacked in the face a few times.
They're different because one uses a catapult and the other uses a slingshot? That's like saying the main reason Black Ops is different from Halo is because one has AUGs while the other has plasma rifles. Free online games get a limited audience of internet frequenters. When someone aiming for cash comes along and markets the game to everyone with a smart phone as its primary gaming medium, it opens up numerous profitable doors. They can't check what they think is called their "i-mail" or whatever them kids call it these days, but they can sure fork up a few bucks to play a game when they don't know and don't care it's a copy of another.
