Whatever happened to Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest? Or Nightwish, which kind of sparked off an entire sub genre?

i dont consider led zeppelin to be "metal" while they were influential to the genre. they werent quite in the genre that artists like black sabbath and iron maidon were

I don't think Iron Maiden belongs at number two. While influential, they weren't -that- influential. More like six or seven.

Opeth totally deserves to be on the actual list, rather than a mention. Their take on the genre was completely groundbreaking. Stratovarius should also at least be in honorable mentions. Just saying.

What about Dragonforce they cream the metal competition.

Dragonforce are way overrated. They didn't revolutionize the genre, and just because they can play fast, does not make them the greatest. Their songs are roughly on par with your average power metal bands overall.

Slipknot. They seem to have left quite an impression in the community.

When it comes to all time I think Tool should be higher. And Like that Queensryche is on there. I don't really get Soundgarden...not metal IMO :S

You ignored Melodic Death Metal >.> and all death metal really >.> In Flames and Dark Tranquillity (the best band) are my two favourite metal bands! And they pioneered an entire sub genre!

Bands that I love that I wish would make a list like this but I know don't meet the criteria of being extremely popular and influential. Mastodon and Protest The Hero
