I've seen people who take links and turn it into words. Like a person who turns someones page into a word like hi

Think of it the other way, words to links. Copy the URL you want to link to, then highlight the words, click the link button, then dump the link in. Voila, done.

I personally think the way this site has the image/quote button is really stupid, so I manually type it in.

For this page, you would type the following, but with brackets

(url=http://armorgames.com/community/thread/8993724/how-to-turn-a-link-into-words/page/1#post-8993884)Insert name here(/url)

Insert name here

Yay for no edit button.

I meant the image/link buttons, the quote button works great.

How does the image button work stupidly? It's the same as the rest: Press button, put in link, all is well.
The link button only work bad because no one seems to understand that codes need a closing tag.

I also recommend looking at the stickies/push pinned threads. Because they tend to answer stuff like this.
Like the "Read this before making a new thread" one. Because you obviously didn't read it before making a new thread...

This should do the trick.

"Put whatever you want to call the link here"//redcloth.org/textile/phrase-modifiers/#links

I hope that helps you with your formatting skills and how to make a link just words. Enclosed in the link is actually a resourceful site on how to format properly. Hope it helps.

That last one didn't seem to work.

This is a link to a ["Advanced Formatting Guide"//redcloth.org/textile/phrase-modifiers/#links]

Hopefully this one actually works.

No, it does not.

Because we use BBCode on the forums. And any BBCode you need is used via the buttons above the comment box.
