Brazil's oil spill, ***ushima's radiation, and ever growing riots across the world(Russia, London, USA, and middle east) do you think there going to be end to this? Or just the beginning?
I saw this as a pretty good year for humanity, what with the death of several tyrannies (Or at least taking power away from said rule) in many places, as well as many other events that I am to tired to mention.
We are hearing about such events because of the advent of media in all forms, hence you are bombarded with news of ''hellish events'' daily. Sure, the number of such incidents has increased across history, but one doesn't think that much in the past because one didn't have access to such sources worldwide, at the click of a button. Did you think the world was always so peaceful until only recently? No. We are just being exposed to such events more and more.
I do think I focus on the negative a lot due to the news I watch RT, Democracy Now, and Max Keiser which they due focus mainly on the negative but at the same time there seem to a lot there and not a lot in the good department not there is none but not as many negative.
Good news stories are boring. No one cares about how little Jimmy helped old man Johnson cross the street but if Jimmy got his hands on a gun and shot old man Johnson you'd all tune in. It's not the media's fault its yours for watching it. Read a newspaper you can skip over the stupid parts. Also, after you sharpen your knives you can use it to see how easily it push cuts through the thin newspaper and you can use it as a cutting board so you don't dull your knives on the counter top. Its got multiple uses.
There was a news promo on the radio a few months "Pittsburgh's most dangerous sex offender on the run. Could he be in your neighborhood? Tune in at 10pm to find out". It turns out he was some guy who was caught urinating in public and didn't turn up for his court date. I didn't actually tune in I was recording a tv show and it recorded the first 5 minutes of the news.
It does seem that a lot of news is exaggerated like Fox is so know for but at the the same time somethings aren't covered like ***ushima is still going on. Just because the news does not cover it does not mean it is gone.
Doubtful the London riots will happen again because they were nothing to do with any political issue, it was pure greed.
People used a police shooting as an excuse and within a matter of hours ordinary people were smashing through shop windows and stealing the goods inside. Some even went into stores with a shopping list.
With regards to the riots elsewhere, people will riot again and again until they get the countries they want. Whether a riot is the right way to go about it is debatable, but I reckon we'll see dozens more riots over 2012 and I get the feeling the recent riots in Russia are only the start of trouble over there.
The nuclear power plant mentioned is still in the news, but it seems to be focusing on the refusal of local people to return to their homes. Can't blame them really.
