This is a face off between actors David Tennat and Matt Smith. Yes this is kind of a Doctor Who thread but more focusing on the actors rather than the series itself.
I have only seen both of them in Doctor Who so I cannot compare them outside of that. I really like both of them as the Doctor but I like David a bit more.
David Tennant I've only seen on Doctor Who and in that one Harry Potter film. Matt Smith I've only seen on Doctor Who. So I really don't have much to go on to compare them. As the Doctor I preferred Tennant's version.
He's an all round good actor but his portrayal of Doctor Who has rewritten how we view Doctor Who. He took the role to more people than any other Doctor Who in the history of Doctor Who and defined it as a modern classic from his very first episode. A true genius.
Still prefer Tom Baker, but there is no denying that Tennant has brought Doctor Who into the modern era.
at first, all new doctors (Smith) seem like demon-spawn and that the old doctor (Tennant) should have stayed for 10 more seasons, but we all learned to like them both. Tennant is a Shakespearean on-stage, live actor, so that is an avantege to his betterness
I'm agreeing with general consensus, while both are excellent actors, Tennant was simply more- awesome. That's honestly they only way I can describe it, and more importantly, he had this flair which to me characterized the doctor perfectly.
David Tennant i know that he has played in three different films/series: Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Fright Night. Matt Smith i only know of him starring in Docor Who.
Comparing then both from Dcotor Who, i would definately go for David Tannant because he has that edge on it that Matt Smith hasn't got.
I am beginning to like Smith, but over all I really love Tennant as an actor much more, in part due to the fact that I find him to be hot. (yeah, get over it. I'm a girl and have a crush on certain actors too) Besides that though, he truly played the part well, and I can't think of an episode that I did not like that he was in, whereas I there were a few I didn't like with Smith as his character was setting in and developing his own style.
