Has any thought been given to issuing a series of challenges to game builders to create a game to a certain set of specifications? Challenges could be issued for all 8 categories of games. Awards could be given for Players' Choice, Staff Pick, Creators' Favorites, and Overall Best in Category. I figure the latter award would be determined by combining the scores of the previous three. Lots of details would have to be worked out, but that is something I would want the entire Armor Game Community to work on together. I am just putting the idea out there to see if it seems like something everyone might be interested in exploring.
No I mean issue a challenge (a contest) for game creators to make a game to certain specifications. The specs would include a deadline and require certain characteristics relating to genre, gameplay, theme, and content. Submitted games would be screened to make certain they meet the minimum criteria and then would be played and rated by players, admin/staff, and other game creators. Those who score highest in these three categories will get awards, something like: 'Players' Choice,' 'Staff Picks,' and 'Creators' Favorites.' Those who score the highest in all three areas will recieve a higher award.
That depends a lot on whether the game creators will want to participate, since it does mean taking away from flexibility and freedom if they want to take part. If not, won't it flop?
Well, why not suggest it to some of them, like Joey Betz, Jmtb02 (John) and ConArtist, they are all within the ArmorGames Headquarters and might give you a good start with the suggestion!
To make sure, I'll relay it to them and direct them to your thread, ok? =)
