A lot of people believe it's nonsensical, others are avid believers.
My personal belief
Personally, I believe it DOES exist in a form, but not as it's interpreted by the majority of people.
There has always been a form of Illuminati; throughout the entire history of America, and other world powers. Even back in the days Rome ruled, the Illuminati existed.
What I mean by this is there is ALWAYS a group of several people who hold almost all power in a society; a group of the richest, "above-the-law" individuals who hear to no real authority other than themselves.
MEDIA
Now, some people claim they find the existence of the modern-day Illuminati through things such as popular music, popular movies, and even popular authors. Though normally it is music you hear the most about incorporating the Illuminati in their songs.
