Why do they call it a TV set if you only get one (TV).

Afterburner, if you want to get off topic just make your own post. Anyway, maybe because it meant something different back then, I don't know, do I wasn't alive 100 years ago when they probably named it that.

anywho i think it was because back whens tv came with a set of things (I.E. the bunny ears)

Because it is a set, it is Audio and video combined together and televised as a set.

Because a TV is just the screen. A TV set is the speakers, remote, cable box, and all that fun stuff that goes with it.
