Well, GemCraft is the deepest TD I have ever played. All chapters are LONG, and you won't beat them in 2-4 hours as you beat most of the flash games. I like that it's really a premium quality game, you can easily see this once you beat Chapter 0 or Labyrinth. Developer put hundreds (probably more than a thousand) of hours in this, and not just released it as one more junk. GemCraft is the technical top in TDs with endless possible combinations and upgrade system and these make it unique with the endurance (survival mode) system.
By the way, don't forget, that GemCraft is made by 1 man only, meanwhile Kingdom Rush is made by 3 men. Now, do you see why isn't it so good in graphics? Anyway, Chapter 0 is nicer in graphics, as the terrains are different in each Acts. But Labyrinth couldn't have been shiny or green or desert-like and so on. ...But I expect the next chapter will be nicer.
Don't think I can say much other than what has already been said as I agree with a lot of it. I think it is a lot about personal preferences nachod0m7. Based on what you have said I would peg you as the kind of person that would rather play a brand new FPS with explosions every second and life like graphics instead of playing an empire building game that is over 5 years old. Where as I would rather play the 5 year old RTS game.
I think a lot of people that play Gemcraft are like that. The gameplay is very simple and yet it is complex enough that you can play the game for hundreds of hours and still not master everything. For me, graphics don't even matter in a game like this. It could be nothing but moving colored pixels and I would still love it.
they should make a gemcraft called gemcraft 2012. with explosions and better graphics. a game that i would like.maybe there should be gem customizing,so you can make your own gems
The only good TD I've ever played was Dungeon Defense. I like it because I feel like I get more interaction with the game. Most flash TDs are just place tower, watch, place tower. It's boring to me.
That's quite funny that some people need to understand why they dont like what many others do. I dont like soccer (I am french), but I dont say it's an horrible sport. I dont like it, that's all, it's not my kind of game. Going to computer games? I dont like games like Call of Duty. Does it make bad game? No, I just dont like that kind of game, that's all. Play a game, like it or not but dont lose your time trying to understand why others like it while you dont...
What makes it so great is the amount of strategic placing you need and what you need to combine to repel the next wave that's what i love about it and it has a-lot of levels which gradually get harder.
