if they follow the beliefs then they are christians/whatever religion, they just might not be as active, doesnt make a difference. If you were to say for example "I hate (enter race/religion here) i wish they would all die!" and you didnt kill them or anything, that would still make you racist.

I can barely understand what your getting at...perhaps if you worked on your grammar and spelling i could?

I can answer your topic question. Many people fail to realize that christianity is more than just going to church. Christianity entails accepting christ as both lord and saviour, and since most people barely hold true to the latter of the two, many "christians" aren't christians. That might be what u've said but i can't really make it out, sorry.

Like eyetwitch said, being a Christian does not mean going to church every week. I have not gone to church since February 2005 and I consider myself a follwer of Christ. I have not gone back because of their intolerance for gays (me being bisexual doesn't help their cause). And in Feb of 2005 a friend of mine was killed in Iraq. Most "Christians" supported the war, yet most of them knew no one going to Iraq. Then when someone at my church told me that I was going to hell for not supporting the war, I left and never came back.

All it takes is a belief in Christ to be a Christian. Not going to church every week.

@pooh, well they say they are Christian, but that is NOT going to ge them to heaven. God can see right through them, so pretending wouldn't work. Also, we don't worship everyday, I guess you aren't a Christian because i am. I just go to Church every Sunday, and pray, but not 24/7.
@thelistman, I agree with what you are saying there. I also knew someone who went to Iraq. Ever heard of Greg Gadson? He was an army soldier who went up and his legs were blown off. He didn't die, and is alive and well today. I am sure you have heard of him because he was all over the news yesterday and today for Memorial day stuff. He was my next door neighbor 7 years ago and I was best friends with his son. He is probably going through some hard times. Of course to be a Christian, you don't have to follow everything. I support the war, but I think homosexuality is okay. Sometimes it isn't even your choice to be homosexual, you might just be born that way. Whatever church you went to is way messed up. I don't even see how Christianity should believe in it although I do.

pooh134 you are being rather unchristian yourself, you are judging others based on actions and that is a sin, so it is not right for you to say that, because i doubt that you pray the whole day either, so don't be talkin son!

@listman

I personally don't agree with the practicing of homosexuality (i myself am a catholic) it's not that i don't like the people, it just that i don't like the practicing of it. But the reason the religion of catholicism and christianity is against homosexuality i think is because being homosexual is not being open to making new life. In the beginning of the bible it talks about how God said woman was made for man and to go forth and multiply and such. So being homosexual is a direct sin against what God himself said...just my veiws on it...

But i agree about the war thing, people shouldn't say your going to hell just because you don't agree with a war...

@XcoheedX
Christ calls us to be in a spirit of worship 24/7 which would be atleast being constantly in reverence to the Lord, while that might not be active prayer, its not like your supposed to just stop everytime you leave church.
(btw:is your SN derived from the band?)

@thelistman
WOW! you should find a different church. I gurantee you wouldn't get that at my church...jeez...got some hypocrites wherever you were. (condeming sin, when everyone sins, even though not supporting the war isn't a sin...)

another reason is because its a lot easier to say yes i am, and not actually follow through, than it is to say yes and follow through, and sometimes its easier to say yes than it is to say no and have to listen to someone talk.. just an fyi..

^^ Haha, aren't we all!
@eyetwitch, I meant that you don't have to be praying 24/7. We still have to live a life that Christ would live all of the time though. and yes, my name does come from Coheed and Cambria! Haha they are so awesome

@pooh134

Worshipping God is not work. It is a choice. We worship God because we want to.

Why the Hell would someone say they'r a Christian when they aren't? No, not because they want to go to heaven. You can't just say you're a Christian to get into heaven, you must be baptized and it is strongly recommended that you get confirmed too. The only time you wouldn't need to would be if you were clean of sin.
