If you are reading this, it is because something horrible has happened to your mind. You are a member of the Order of the Sun. Everyone else should be regarded as an enemy. TRUST NO ONE. I must keep this message short, so that it will not be picked up by scanners. Find a person with a sun-sign, and everything will be explained.

And that is where your story begins!

Gameplay
The point of the game is to survive and recover your memories. The game will be divided into a series of stages, with each stage beginning with a challenging trial. Upon completion of the trial, you will be granted with a special ability, unique to how you solved the trial. This ability will manifest itself as you complete the trial, and will grow in power throughout the stage. There will be aspects to your abilities that will change depending on how you use them. You do not necessarily keep your old powers in the next stage, but they might merge with your new abilities. It all depends on your actions.

In order to give people a chance, you are guaranteed to survive the first trial, which will happen almost immediately. If you die (see rules) you will be sent back to the very beginning with a new character. If you act in a way during the first trial that would normally have resulted in your death, I will inform you as such, so that you will know to be more thoughtful in the future.

Each stage will have a theme that is the same for all players, but this theme will never directly be stated. This theme (except for the first theme, which I have already chosen) will be determined by the actions of the first player to pass the trial. Therefore, there is a strategic advantage for figuring out each stage as fast as possible. You will also discover the exact nature of your powers by using them, not by me explicitly stating how they work. Similarly, the objectives of the trials will also need to be learned.

Because your abilities are based on your actions, it is important that you be as specific as possible, especially during the trials.

Rules:
1) You can only control your own character. If you get allies along your journey, you can ask that they do things, but you can't force them to do things. For instance, you CAN do something like

"I ask Joe to open the door."

You cannot do things like

"Joe stabs the guard in the back while I shoot the other one in the face."

2) You must respect events that happened to you. No whining! I'll try to be as fair as possible. There will be no "You randomly get knifed in the back" type of things. A careful player will be able to avoid all danger (well, maybe not other players).

3)If you DO get killed by a NPC, I will warn you the first time. You can then go back and change your action. But only once, any future deaths will be permanent. If another player kills you, you die the first time. Otherwise, it would not be fair to the victorious player.

4) All equipment will be "generic". There are no brand name guns or other weapons here, to keep things simple. There will be rifles, but no Winchesters.

I lie and tell the guards I was wondering around and got lost and im looking for my mom

"Well, get in already! It is really dangerous out here."

One of the guards lowers his weapon and runs forward to escort you into the town. You are now in the settlement: There seem to be two perpendicular main roads. Along these roads are single or double story wooden buildings. You can see scared faces in some of the windows.

To your left, you see one of the men from earlier, engaged in a standoff with 20 or so guards.

Of the the guards asks you:
"Did you see anyone else out there? We don't want anyone else to get hurt today, so it is important that you tell us if there is a dangerous person out there."

The other guard asks:
"What does your mother look like? Maybe she is in the town somewhere..."

I tell that I didn't see any other survivors. Then I tell the other guard my mom has almost white skin, 2 inches taller than me with light brown hair and darkish blue eyes. then I stare at some of the scared faces here hoping they might know something about my past I forgot about.

The guard on your right says:
"Well... can't say that rings any bells. My name is Grant. Who are you? How old are you? Hmmm.... I know you're a civilian, but... do you know how to fire a weapon? Normally I wouldn't ask, its just that-"

The other guard stops him and says:
"Stop it, Grant. She's just a child. I won't be responsible for putting a kid in danger. My name is Charlie. Come on, let's go inside."

The guards seem to have lost all hostility towards you.

Man, sometimes I wonder about your guys' thought process:
"Whoa... two people in the woods... I should probably try to burn them alive."

You run forward and shove them into the fire. The one on your left falls in, and writhes in the flames. The one on the right, however, manages to regain his footing and turns around.

You swing your stick and catch him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. He yells out a curse word, and slams the butt of his rifle into your stomach.

The man in the fire is attempting to roll out of the flames. While he is close to death, there is a chance he might be able to save himself.

There are some buildings around, all of which seem to be occupied. Where do you go?

You look for a branch, but unfortunately all of the ones around you happen to be attached to trees, and you have no knife. So, you drop to the ground a few yards away, and find a hefty branch that had fallen from a tree.

The clearing is now about 10-15 feet away. The men still do not see you.

I look for the infirmary to find a first aid kit.

It is unclear what the purposes of the various buildings are. You head into the nearest one, on a whim. It is just one large room, with tables, chairs, and the like. There are maybe 25 people in the room, and about 5 appear to be armed at first glance.

An unarmed women notices you, and asks:
"Hello, dear. Can I help you with anything? OH! you're injured, here, let me get that."

She runs off into a corner, and returns with a bandage and anti-septic ointment. She hands you both items.
"Please just use what you need, we don't get another shipment for a while."

I say, I will give, you my weapon so I may enter your wonderful town, but just out of curiosity, what would happen if I didn't?

You hand the man your gun. He takes it, and says:
"Thank you. Its just.. you can never be to careful these days, you know? I don't even want to hear HOW you got a weapon, just go inside."

You are allowed inside the settlement.

Note: nothing is ever locked down, so its not like you would have been instantly killed if you had tried to fight back. You could have run away without being harmed too much.

It would have been much more difficult to enter the city. And once inside, you would have been attacked by pretty much everyone. I mean, that's what happens when you enter a settlement firing bullets.

I don't even want to hear HOW you got a weapon, just go inside."\r\n\r\nYou are allowed inside the settlement.\r\n\r\nNote: nothing is ever locked down, so its not like you would have been instantly killed if you had tried to fight back. You could have run away without being harmed too much.\r\n\r\nIt would have been much more difficult to enter the city. And once inside, you would have been attacked by pretty much everyone.
