This question popped up when talking to a friend here on ArmorGames...

"Do you remember what the first compact disc was you purchased?"

Let's face it... the compact disc is already an 'older' type of data storage, but still not completely wiped out by the current most popular song format, the mp3! And even though it's bound to happen someday, with current technology and all... it's a pretty sturdy fella to deal with! =)

I'll throw in my memories as well... the first two compact discs I bought (or rather, was allowed to buy since they were sponsored by mum) were "Me So H****" by 'The 2 Live Crew' and "This Beat is Technotronic" by 'Technotronic'.

So... how about your first cd's? Which was it/where they? Do you still listen to them now? Do you still own them or have you gotten ridd of them already? And tell us something about the artist(s) and/or song(s) please!

The Offspring-Americana and System of a Down-Toxicity. I still listen to them pretty regularly.


Both are epicly awesome bands, SoAD especially so since their rock is so experimental and unpredictable.

I liked The Offspring's The Kids Aren't Alright though. It had a nice genuine punk-like feel to it.

First album I ever bought was Rubber Soul by the Beatles. One of their bests I'd have to say.

Couldn't agree more. Their music is pretty unique. I also love their lyrics.
I liked The Offspring's The Kids Aren't Alright though. It had a nice genuine punk-like feel to it.

Again, couldn't agree more. The kids Aren't Alright is my favorite Offspring song. That, and You're Gonna go Far, Kid.

First CD I ever bought...Probably Linkin Park's Meteora or The Exie's Head For The Door. Both are great albums I still listen to.

The first CD I ever bought was 10,000 Fists by Disturbed, and I still listen to it.

I don't know the first CD I ever purchased but the first cassette tape I ever purchased was Licensed to Ill by The Beastie Boys back in the mid-90s. It's got rhymes like Abe Vigoda.

@ Deth666 : Even more epic! Cassette tapes! I still have a suitcase full of those yes! I would have to digg deep to remember, buuuutt.... I think it was Snap - The Power? I can't really honestly remember... =/

I can't really remember what was the very first one. I think I have bought some terrible CDs when I was a kid. However, the first CD I bought after getting really into music and decided to start collecting CDs and vinyl was propably Mecca and the Soul Brother by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth. That's a really dope record.

First CD Purchased: Resident Evil 4 Golden Edition
It was bought 3-4 years ago, I wasn't really into video games back in those days until I was gifted a PS2. So I went to a store and bought this game. I played it and I have been addicted to video games.

Ahm... that is technically a "CD-Rom" you're talking about there Dracolich... what I meant for this thread was the first 'Compact Disc' for music actually. =/

But I have to agree that it is a nice twist to my topic though!
