Why bother asking us why there was none of such and such, why not ask the developer( Who most probably won't answer you)? There's going to be another Last Stand, so hold your horses before demanding something.

Visit ConArtist's own website and leave a message on his FAQ's board or write him an email (conartist@conartistgames.com), that would be the easiest way to get your question answered. If you write it here, ConArtist will probably not see it at all...

The developer of the game probably didn't have those elements in the first game was because he might have wanted to put them in the second game. Just have some patience.
