The new Flash ad for Maple Story slows my browser noticeably. It's especially slow during those full-screen wipes, during which games on AG will slow to a crawl for several seconds.
Having one Maple Story ad come up on the page when I load a game makes it really annoying to play. If I'm so unlucky that I get TWO instances of the MS ad playing at once (top and bottom) then any game is made virtually unplayable.
(I'm not exactly running on super-modern hardware, but still.)
I know AG makes money from ads, and hosting/supporting the site costs money, so I'm not anti-ad in general. It's just that this particular one pretty much destroys the AG experience for me.
Ad-block. Or refresh the page until you don't get the ad. I haven't gotten that specific ad for a while so I can't tell you if that has been happening to me as well. As far as I know, it never has.
Google Chrome and Firefox have an add on you can get that blocks ads. You also won't see any on Youtube anymore.
Unfortunately it takes potential money away from AG. But if the ads take away from the experience that much then I don't imagine them frowning upon this :P
