I'm going to High School next year!
The only thing is, I don't know which electives to take.
Any suggestions?

(Just subjects, as you probably don't know what electives are available at my school.)

Won't that all depend on what you want to do in the future? Choose strategically, though Math should always feature somewhere inside.

I want to get involved in something music-related, or in politics.

That's quite a big jump isn't it? Between the two.

I'm not familiar with the American system, assuming you're from America, so what subjects are available?

Well I am from America, and I do agree. That is a big jump.

Orchestra
Band Instrument Performing Ensembles
Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensembles

Classroom Subjects
Music Theory I & AP Music Theory
Theater Arts
Beginning Guitar & Advanced Guitar
Creating Music with Computers I & II
Music Appreciation

Performing Arts Clubs (co-curricular) include:

Chamber Orchestra, Handbell Choir, Jazz Choir, MHS Spring Musical, Roundtable Singers, Sock-ân-Buskin drama club, Santa Band, Stage Band, String Quartets

Business-related electives:

(Of course, there are more, but these are all I'm eligible to take.)

Then again it depends on what you want to do exactly for music. Form a band? Or join an orchestra? Or become a producer? And what genre? What role in the musical group?

As for the business ones.....would you really need keyboarding skills and introductions to programs that you should be familiar with by now? I would definitely take Public Speaking, since any politician, or businessman needs good communication and persuasive skills.

Jazz Ensemble is definitely a choice for me, as is chorus. As it goes for music, I'm all about performing.

Then you would have more or less settled out on electives.

Oh yeah!...
I can't believe I didn't think about that in the first place!
Now there'll be some random thread at the back of the forum list on electives :/
Anyways, thx!
