I am interested in making games but I heard that they are extremely expensive to get started and get working but does armor games pay you for them? I see the armor games symbol on every game on here. Thanks for your help!
Sorry for the stupid question I was just wondering because of the 700$ + you have to pay to get your hands on some software and classes and such... or should I wait till I am older and when I get a job save every penny I have to get this and do it as a hobby?
Actually... that isnt a stupid question... its quite interesting to me. I really dont know tbh. But the software you must acquire is very very costly.... Me myself could not afford such Software. But lets see if any1 has the answer my friend!
Yeah the 700 dollars was for the software only not to mention the classes you have to take which I am sure are close to the same price... coding drives me insane! I would be an artist more then a coder but that is just me because all the coding starts to annoy me after a while and there is so much to learn... art comes easier to me then coding.
I believe AG does have a sponsoring thing going on, but usually you will need to contact them as an already established developer, possibly with a game in the making, and not as a beginner, wanting to learn the trade. But I recommend you contact them and ask your questions, it will obviously give some better results than asking us.
Anyway, if you would rather be an artist, there is always the possibility to team up with someone that knows how to code, but you will probably get better chances at that over on Newgrounds, their development centre is far better than here, currently.
It is similar to the system they have in Youtube. You get paid through AG but technically by the advertisers that advertise on the site. So, making a game doesn't guarantee payment. Your game has to get a lot of views/ plays.
Once you are an established game maker, AG may choose to sponsor you for a game. For example, if a game you made is so good, AG can pay you to make a sequel.
I am not %100 on this info, but I believe it has merit.
