I was surprised when I saw that news... somehow I expected her to live a short and stormy life, but still... this was WAY to short in my opinion! She had a lot more to do with that golden voice! The music industry just lost the 'uber-diva' of divas... R.I.P. =/
I remember Whitney Houston from the movie the Bodyguard, the one with Kevin Costner. I don't know much about her musical career though. She was only 48! I honestly thought she was way older ...
Seems sudden so I imagine the drugs played some role.

I thought the 'uber-diva' of divas was Elton John... or at the very least, Aretha Franklin (if you insist on a diva being a woman, which I actually do). I don't think Whitney quite turned the page to uber-diva-dom. She was close and it was hers for the taking, but she chose to throw it away with drugs.
There are still no new facts stated on that... last speculations include either a 'simple' drowning in her bathtub or a combination of alcohol and drug abuse. Last article on the internet is dated 3 days ago, so... =/
No one simply drowns in a bathtub... smart money would be on drugs, no matter how clean she said she might be... she was a wreck ever since she got together with Bobby Brown. It's sad. I don't know what kind of hold he had on her, but it was pretty obvious from the start that he was no good for her.
This is kinda mean but imagine the look on the person's face who found Whitney dead in a bathtub. Naked. They'd be like, "Hey! It's a celebrity in a bathtub wearing no clothes! Come here..."
*disturbing noises come from bathroom*
"Wait. How come you haven't said anything this whole time? And why aren't you breathing?
*:O*
"Omg. Are you dead? Well, let's forget everything that just happened. See you in Heaven!"
XD Lol
Sike Whitney's death was a very sudden and tragic loss.
