I've only ever got access to Western friendly/slanted media, and Syrian statements are claimed by them to be completely unfounded, so how would my sceptic mind satisfy itself?
I guess you can say that the Syrian civil war was started by terrorists. Simply because both the Syrian government and the opposition can fall under the term "terrorists".
From what I have heard, the military is starving and firing mortar rounds onto innocent civilians. It is terrible what these poor people are enduring right now and I will be sure to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
I think there should be US troops in Syria, actively participating
But the U.S. government has close ties to Syria and to get involved would not be good. It would really mess things up and the Syrian government has already threatened the U.S. government against this. If we get involved, we may very well be fighting in 3 wars (4 if you consider the Korean War as we never signed a peace treaty and still have thousands of troops at the 38th parallel). Also, when Americans got involved in Somalia, the people were starving and banded into gangs which would fight over the food drops and eventually brutally murdered 19 American soldiers. However, when we didn't get involved in the Rwandan genocide, almost half a million people were killed in a matter of less than 2 years. I believe that to stop this, people must learn of this injustice and actively condemn the actions of the Syrian government and boycott Syrian products (whatever they sell) as well as nations setting tariffs on their exports.
