The LRA is a rebel group that is terrorizing Africa and is led by a man named joseph Kony, but chances are, none of you have heard of him. Why? He kidnaps children, drugs them, and forces them to either become sex slaves (girls) or fight for the rebels (boys). We are talking kids between ten years old up to teenagers. Is it only because they are in Africa that no one knows about this?
Cause I know about him, the LRA is a frequent example of a Christian-based terrorist I used whenever a prejudiced warrior of the cross gets all red in the face about Muslims and what not.
That aside, the LRA are one of the vast plethora of armed militias that are so ubiquitous in Africa. A dime a dozen, most of them; We hear little of them because let's face it, many of such groups are domestic issues, and in some cases, bilateral issues when they hide in a neighbouring nation.
Is it only because they are in Africa that no one knows about this?
I doubt it. I know that in the UK and Ireland [Where i live] there is a massive emphasis placed on helping Africa.
How long has it been going on for, to be exact?
As previous situations of a similar sensitivity have shown, you can't go in and rescue all guns blazing. It needs to be a strategic approach will ensure the longevity of peace. Eradicating the problem now and instantly will sadly initially only be it over for a while.
