The 5 DLC's should definitely make it even more satisfying.
Five? I thought there were only four, and I've got the GotY edition. Mothership Zeta, Brotherhood of Steel, The Pitt, and Aiding the Outcasts, right?
Definately go to the Pitt though. Find all the steel ingots, so you can get the Perforator. Its an assault rifle painted black, with a sniper rifle scope and a silencer. Combined with the Chinese Stealth Armor, its killer.
let me correct that whit "every modern war CoD." =)
CoD 4 was really good I thought, and WaW's campaign was awesome. But yeah, I aggree otherwise.
The Fallout 3 story is really good, and the DLC for it is awesome. But I like New Vegas a lot better. Bunch more weapons, more towns, more factions, and the storyline doesn't have such a clear cut good and bad guy, as you do with the Brotherhood and the Enclave in Fallout 3. The New California Republic (NCR), Mr. House, and Caesar's Legion all have good and bad qualites about them, so you don't feel so compelled to go any which way.
Plus, theres a lot of little things in New Vegas that really make it surpass Fallout 3. You can actually check what your status with various factions are, rather than hoping that killing such-and-such a person won't turn the town against you. Likewise, the ability to modify weapons with larger magazines, silencers, lighter frames, etc, etc, make it really fun aswell.
Only thing is, the currency value is way different between the games. Having four or five thousand caps in Fallout 3 is high rolling, while a basic sniper rifle will cost 4000 caps in New Vegas, and a lot of the mods in New Vegas almost all cost 2000 caps. Granted, its easier to get caps with gambling, but once you get kicked out of all the casinos, you lose a major source of income.
Its harder to max out your stats in New Vegas though, so getting a '
erfect character' like you can in Fallout 3 is next to impossible. Adds a measure of fun though, because you have to plan your leveling much more than in Fallout 3.
Both are great games, but New Vegas has more stuff, and is more challenging with Hardcore mode (which takes into account sleep deprivation, dehydration, and hunger). So if you want a more RPG-based game, get New Vegas. Or if you want more running-and-gunning, get Fallout 3.
