I'll help this thread along a bit... as there have been other threads about this topic before and this one is probably to decide which one of the two is preferable! =)
So, to state my vote, I would have to give each of them a point (or give them half if you wish), because I like the whole 'ahead of it's time' thing the Star Wars saga had going and the great thought of storyline that is played out in another galaxy and on the other hand... the Star Trek series has the point of view on what mankind will do to conquer space in the future and all the troubles and new things they will come across while doing that!
So, in conclusion... my vote is tied as they both have their unique way of telling a truly breathtaking, fascinating story that binds one to it and makes a viewer crave for more! =)
Both are really good. I am more of a Star Wars fan though. I grew up with watching the Star Wars movies and loved them. I have also read the books and I really like those.
Star Trek is also good. I have seen the new movie and I liked it. I just have a special place for Star Wars that Star Trek can not take.
I like star wars better. I'm not really a Trekkie.
Any particular reason as to why you are not really a trekkie and like Star Wars better jkl3848? Is it because of the storylines used? The spaceships? The encountered aliens? =)
As for the 'new' Star Trek movie... I actually really like the fact that they decided to play around with the alternate demensions and thus making a complete new opportunity to start a fresh new series in the Star Trek series! I really hope they will do that real soon! =D
well i am a big Trekkie, always like the Star Trek universe over the Starwars (Star Wars is still pretty awesome though) mostly because i always like the different aliens in Star Trek
I always though Star Trek was really boring, no action.
