In the communist manifesto they talk about situational ethics
EX. Youâre on a boat with 3 people, yourself, an old man, and a pregnant woman, the boat is sinking and there is an island 15 miles away and you have a life boat that can carry 2 people who do you take?
Do you think this stuff is in the communist manifesto? Do you think its in our schools? And do you think it matters?
Okay uh...let's see. Guess I'll go with my usual list layout.
1) Just because something is apart of something doesn't make it that thing.
For example, just because I like bread dipped in grape juice for a snack, and just because I got the idea of eating it as a snack from Christianity's practice of communion, doesn't mean that I believe in communion. I just like bread dipped in grape juice because I think it tastes good.
2) I personally believe in situational ethics/morals. I have never heard that this was a part of communism. Not that I think communism is bad, it's just not realistic.
3) I have never seen any evidence in my schools of teachers/faculty trying to pass morals off to students other than to not do drugs/alcohol.
the main ideology of communism isn't bad at all. and whit alot of it i agree whit. but just like others have said already. it doesn't realy work in reality.
i have the feeling that your only knowlets of communism is that it is bad. because of how the "western" world has used it's propaganda against it and from the bad examples. (it doesn't work in reality)
I've never heard of a specific 'communist manifesto' - do you have a copy of it that I could read?
It was the one by Marx, the one that pretty much started socialism. I heard it is really short, you could find it online easily.

That was not in the Manifesto, and I don't think to many schools teach that. Why does a boat with three people only have a life boat for two?
But in any case, I would let the old man and pregnant women take the boat, and I would swim behind them, holding on to rest a bit every mile or so. Why wouldn't you do something like that?

Ah, this is what happens when I focus too much on Marxism and not enough on Marx himself, although it could be argued that communism as an idea and an ideology has changed since Marx was around and so the things set forth in the manifesto may not hold as relevant as they once did.

Communism is good in theory. Clearly you haven't actually read the manifesto, or any sources about Communism properly.

I'm not sure about that, old people can be pretty darn grumpy, and their backs tend to be in even worse shape than a pregnant woman's. I'll have to agree with 314d1's answer.
Either way, this thread is not about the question, but about the consequences of, and whether it is right to, educate kids about ethics and morals, and/or if communism is taught in schools, to which I can only answer "LOL, no".
Communism is really really really...etc. bad. And I believe that it shouldn't be taught that communism is good and brainwash the students. However, it's probably happening. I think my evil president, obama, is indoctrinating students into liberalism, progressiveism, and communism. I'm kind of getting a feeling that obama is also a Communist.
Why? Is everyone sharing everything something worthy of the devil?

And if you hate the president, then you are obviously after the downfall of America. If you are after the downfall of America, then you are against us. If you are against us, your a communist. We are onto you, comrade!
Communism, when put into practice, tends to be bad - but I have the feeling this is down to human nature more than anything else. If you'd look properly at the core values and ideas of Communism then you'd see that it's really not such a bad thing in theory and that, although it ends up bad when fully integrated into society, having elements of Communism in our society is actually far more beneficial to us than harmful. I've never understood why people hate Communism so much - maybe because it's a threat to the Capitalism that our darling America holds so dear to its heart?

It seems to be more of the Marx "Socialist dictator". Off the top of my head, Marx believed that everything would become communist eventually, and put out three steps. First, without communism. Then a benevolent socialist would take over, which is supposedly a stepping stone to the last stage, communism.
Now lets leap forward and look this little country called "The Soviet Union", which absolutely everyone seemed to hate pretty much once is started. This country became socialist, under a variety of leaders like Stalin. America hated them, Germany hated them, England hated them, everyone hated them. They seem to be the only country who can kill 80% of the Nazis in a war and still come out looking like a bad guy.
The Soviet Union then grew powerful and spread it's ideology in many parts of the world, making other dictators take over and attempt at the same thing. These people are called "Communists", you may have heard of faces like Zedong or Jim Kong, who think that they are the stepping stone to communism. Not even they liked the Soviet Union to much.
Now the Soviet Union was pretty much hated by everyone, for some reason, and eventually a war broke out. Kind of. The Cold War. And since it is a war, you have to demonize some of the traits in your enemy. So what is a major difference between the two? Communism! So thus the west grew to hate communism.
