An un-named moderator removed a post I made; I said I agreed with a member about a conservative view, the next day the moderator said
âPlease contribute to the discussion of the threads in the community instead of saying "I agree with X / Y". It contributes nothing, being spam, and thus needs to be deletedâ Do comments like this get deleted a lot or did he disagree with my
It got deleted because you just said "I agree with [name]" which adds nothing to the discussion/topic. If everyone would do that AG would be a boring place.
There are certain forums (basically the ones that give AP) where you should only post if you're contributing something meaningful to the thread. If you talk about an unrelated topic or just say you agree with so and so without providing a reason or any additional comment then your post is likely to be deleted.
I doubt he disagreed with your views, our moderators are mostly fair and unbiased in their moderating and wouldn't delete a post because it conflicted with their personal opinion.
Mods don't care about your views, unless your views are breaking the Terms and Conditions. In that case, they tend to tell you that, and not that you are spamming. Usually, when they remove a post and tell you it was because you were spamming, then they removed the post because you were spamming, and just decided to be nice and actually give you a reason instead of just moving on with their day, like they could have done.
I didn't know until that point that it was even possible to be too lazy to spam properly.[/quote]
Wow, are there people too lazy to spam properly. I never knew. I always try to post things worth posting AND reading. @toemas, Rule Of Thumb: Always strive to post things worth posting AND reading. If you can't see yourself high-fiving another user for posting it, don't post it. If you can't see someone else reading it and high-fiving you, don't post it. See? Easy peachy.
