But they sound good. Was surprised when he first started singing in clean vocals, I thought he'd only growl; but it works well with the rest. They manage to play with the ambience rather well.
I've been to one of their concerts. It was awesome.
How come you atheists didn't seem to know that Red is a Christian band? I think it's surprising that you like it too. But I don't blame you. They are really good.

I used to listen to them a couple of years ago, but I haven't heard much from them since. I assumed they had quit or something.
Anyways, I knew they were a Christian band because I looked them up on "teh internets" back when I listened to them, but I would never have noticed unless I had, because most of their song lyrics aren't very religious, and the ones that are are so ambiguous that, unless you already knew about them being a Christian band, the song sound more like love songs for a person than for a deity.
For example, the song goumas mentioned, "Breathe Into Me":
Breathe your life into me I can feel you I'm falling, falling faster Breathe your life into me I still need you I'm falling, falling
Knowing they're Christian I would assume this was about God, but it could also be about a boy- or girlfriend.
Anyways, to answer your question, the lyrics don't really show that they are Christian, so usually only those who would care about them being a Christian band actually have a reason to find out, unless they just happen to stumble upon the info, like me.
TL;DR:
Because we don't care. If it sounds good, I listen to it despite it being a Christian band, or anything else as long as it's not too offensive.
Of course I know they're Christian. Do I care? No, I listen to all sorts of music, Christian, Skillet, 12 Stones etc, and anti-Christian metal bands. Unlike you where religion even in music is important, it isn't for the rest of us.

Why are you trying to divert the thread's topic (Red music) to a religious angle there macfan1? I think religion has nothing to do with whether you like music or not you know...
I mean, take "P.O.D." for example? They are a religious band... or what about the 80's rock band "Stryper"? They too are a religious (christian even) band... and I like both of the bands and their music, but I'm not religious at all...
So does this mean I shouldn't listen to their music? No...
As for the music "Red" makes... their are a decent band, but they remind me of Linkin Park a bit, with some heavier guitar work though... and in my book, that's a bad thing when a particular band keeps reminding me of another band with every song of theirs I listen too! Sorry... =/
