For those who have watched this refreshing take on the espionage genre, away from the fast paced worlds of MI and Bond, what are your thoughts about it? The cast was fantastic, the film whilst not doing the book full justice, by stripping away the details and lingo, has managed more or less successfully to pack everything nicely into two hours of solid and pensive entertainment. I do hope more of le Carre's work will make it to the big screen!
I found it very hard to follow, especially because the lack of dialogue made it hard for me to pay attention. Plus, it made it even more confusing that most of the characters were similar looking to one-another, so I kept forgetting which ones were which.
But that's just what I think. It wasn't my kind of movie.
I actually did not know it was a book. The movie however, was vary nice. Though it took my a little while to understand the whole thing by the time the movie ended I understood everything but the murder at the end where the guy outside the prison kills the guy inside it. I like the movie though.

The two were close friends, and the man who shot him felt incredibly betrayed; you would if you were sent by your friend on a mission when he knew you might not make it out alive.
Pretty nice movie. A really old-style film, very slow-paced. Anyway, the cast's performances are perhaps the film's strongest point. And, Gary Oldman is excellent as always. Loved the ending.
